A 264kW project was inaugurated in early May 2025 and features 480 ASTRO 5 modules of 550W.

In the municipality of Socha, in the Colombian department of Boyacá, now benefits from a cleaner and more efficient energy solution through the Minercondor project—a photovoltaic plant equipped with 480 monofacial ASTRO 5 550W modules supplied by Astronergy in partnership with the distributor Solares y Suministros. With an installed capacity of 264kW, the plant marks a significant step forward in bringing sustainable technology into the mining sector.

“Projects like this one, in collaboration with Solares y Suministros, demonstrate how solar energy can be a powerful ally to industry—even in traditionally high-consumption sectors. We are proud to contribute with a solution that combines energy performance, cost predictability, and environmental commitment,” said Sebastián Mora, Sales Manager for Latin America at Astronergy.

The system is expected to generate approximately 337,260 kWh annually, reducing the unit’s conventional energy demand by 25% and preventing an estimated 135.29 tons of CO₂ emissions per year—equivalent to preserving around 811 trees. The solution delivers measurable environmental returns while ensuring operational efficiency in one of the regions with the highest solar irradiation in the country.

Oscar Amaya, General Director from Solares y Suministros, added: “Working with Astronergy on this project was essential to delivering a robust, reliable, and high-performing solution.”

By integrating its technology into strategic projects like Minercondor, Astronergy continues to strengthen its presence in Latin America and reaffirms its role as a key partner in the energy transition—especially in high-demand sectors like mining, where competitiveness and sustainability go hand in hand.
