Case Highlights
Soutpan 28MW solar park is located approximately 5km from the town of Vivo in Limpopo, spreading over 180 hectares. The project is the first utility-scale PV project to be built in the first phase of South Africa's Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Program, during which a total of 18 PV projects entered the priority bidding phase. Installed with 108,000 ASTRO modules, the project is expected to generate 61,000 MWh of electricity and provide enough clean energy to power 13,000 homes, offsetting 17,080 tons of CO2 emissions annually. To promote renewable energy development in South Africa, Astronergy also delivered PV modules to Witkop 31 MW Solar Park, accumulating over 59 MW of supplies for solar power plants in 2014.
